Goalie Logan Flodell has joined the Seattle Thunderbirds for the remainder of the season, team general manager Russ Farwell announced today.

Flodell had an 8-4-0 record with a .901 save percentage and a 2.44 goals against average in 13 games with the Nipawin Hawks in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League this season. He was named the SJHL Rookie of the Week after leading the Hawks to two wins by stopping 52 of 55 shots he faced last week.

Goalie Danny Mumaugh has elected to end his hockey career. Mumaugh had an 18-21-4-4 record with one shutout in three seasons with the T-Birds. He has a career goals against average of 3.76 and a career save percentage of .887.

“Danny came to us recently and told us he did not have the drive to keep playing,” Farwell said. “To have a player quit this soon after the deadline could have left us in a real bind. We are fortunate that Logan is able to join us. We appreciate the Nipawin Hawks working with us to allow Logan to join the team for the remainder of the season.”

Flodell played one game with the T-Birds this year. He made 37 saves on 40 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Prince George Cougars on Oct. 17. Flodell was originally assigned to the Hawks on Nov. 1.
