A Tacoma man received a one-year jail sentence for his role in the Kent car show, gang-related shooting last July that injured 12 people.

King County Superior Court Judge James Cayce sentenced Patrick Anthony Auble on July 6 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. A jury convicted Auble in May of one count of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.

The jury convicted Auble for hiding one of the vehicles that carried shooters away from the shooting at the La Plaza strip mall, 23311 Pacific Highway S.

Auble began serving his sentence on July 6 at the county jail at the Regional Justice Center. The sentencing range was six to 12 months and the judge agreed with the prosecutor’s recommendation of one year in jail.

Twelve people were injured at the lowrider car show attended by about 250 people. Another person was injured later that night in a retaliatory shooting at a Kent East Hill apartment. Of the 13 victims, seven were gang members, according to Kent Police.

None of the injuries were life threatening.

Kent Police arrested the 30-year-old Auble Sept. 14 with bail set at $100,000. Auble posted bail the next day and was released.
