The Goddard School to open Kent location in 2021

Early childhood education facility on the rise on East Hill

The Goddard School, a nationally acclaimed early childhood education franchise, plans to open a Kent location in early 2021.

Construction continues on the new two-story, 10,200-square-foot school going up at 24116 132nd Ave. SE. The school broke ground about a year ago and had hoped to open in 2020. The school is for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years and can serve up to about 138 students. Hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Inside each of the classrooms, from infant to preschool, talented teachers will be there to guide children every step of the way to reach key developmental milestones while working in partnership with parents to nurture children into respectful, confident and joyful learners, according to on-site owner Chelsey Milton.

The health and safety of students, teachers and staff will be a top priority, Milton said. Using the latest technology, the school will feature a ZONO machine to ensure all learning materials receive a high-quality disinfecting every day. The school will follow the latest guidance from the CDC, as well as from state and local health officials.

For more than 30 years, Goddard Systems, Inc., the franchiser of The Goddard School, has been the acknowledged leader in childcare. As the largest franchised preschool system, The Goddard School licenses more than 525 schools that serve more than 70,000 students in 38 states. The school has been consistently named the top-ranked education franchise in the Franchise Times Top 200 list and number one in franchisee satisfaction by Franchise Business Review, a third-party market research firm that provides rankings for franchise companies based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance.

Goddard also has Washington locations in Bellevue, Bothell, Issaquah, Monroe, Redmond, Snohomish and Snoqualmie.

The tuition costs vary by location and the age of the child. In general, full-time tuition ranges from around $1,400 to $1,650 per month at most locations, while part-time tuition for before- and after-school programs costs between $520 and $800 per month, according to firstquarterfinance.com.

For information about the curriculum, flexible scheduling, tuition rates and how to enroll at the Kent location, go to the school’s Facebook page or call Chelsey Milton at 253-215-8800.
