Two people were killed in a single-car crash Saturday, May 11 in Kent in the 2400 block of South 272nd Street on the West Hill, just west of Interstate 5.

Officers were dispatched at about 7:40 p.m. after multiple witnesses called 911 to report a speeding vehicle had struck a tree and caught fire, according to a May 11 Kent Police news release. Witnesses said they tried to remove the two occupants but were unsuccessful.

On arrival, officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel found a white sedan completely engulfed in flames, according to police. Both people already were dead.
