Two men shot, injured in parking lot near Kent hookah bar | Update

Two men were shot and injured late Friday night in the parking lot of the Babylon Hookah House, 308 Washington Ave. S.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 11 p.m. and found a 29-year-old SeaTac man with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to a Monday email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner. Officers found a 25-year-old Kent man nearby with a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported both men to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The SeaTac man was in critical condition.

Officers are trying to determine what led to the shooting. Police said they had not been to this business before, which is in a strip mall near Safeway. Detectives spokes to witnesses and are reviewing video surveillance from the area to gather suspect information.

“Detectives continue to work through evidence and the witness statements,” Kasner said. “We are still working through the details to confirm the true sequence of events.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the tip line at 253-856-5808.
