Man in second crash identified

A second motorcyclist in two days was killed Friday while riding along Highway 167 in the Kent/Auburn area.

A 36-year-old San Jose, Calif., man died after his motorcycle crashed at about 3:55 p.m. Friday, June 7, northbound on Highway 167 in Pacific near the Ellingson Road exit, according to the Washington State Patrol press memo. Gregorio Becerra died from blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Becerra, on a 2008 Harley-Davidson, and a 40-year-old Inglewood, Calif., man riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson, each were attempting to move from lane one to lane two. Becerra lost control, was ejected and then struck by the rider on the second motorcycle. Becerra died at the scene. Paramedics transported the second man to Multicare Auburn Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Speeds too fast for conditions and an unsafe lane change caused the crash, according to the State Patrol. It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved.

On June 6, Dylan A. Hague, 28, of Kent, was killed when his motorcycle crashed into the back of a construction truck setting signage just after midnight. The State Patrol had the cause of that crash still under investigation. A trooper on the scene said the motorcycle appeared to be going normal speeds. Drugs or alcohol were not involved.

I-5 motorcycle crash

A 42-year-old Bellingham man was critically injured when his motorcycle crashed at about 8:29 a.m. Saturday, June 8, while traveling southbound on Interstate 5 near the Southcenter exit in Tukwila.

The man was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson with a total of nine motorcycles when he lost traction and the motorcycle went down and ejected him, according to the State Patrol.

An unsafe lane change caused the crash, according to the State Patrol. It was unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
