Kent firefighters on the scene of two unit fire.

A Kent Fire Department investigator is currently working at the scene of a fire in two units of an industrial park located in the 22600 block of 88 Ave. S.

Capt. Kyle Ohashi, spokesman for the Kent Regional fire Authority, reported the fire was first reported by a passerby at 8:22 p.m. as smoke coming from a business.

When the first fire units arrived, the flames and smoke were already billowing from the roof of the concrete tilt-up structure. Firefighters worked hard to contain the fire and limit its spread through the building. At least one other business in the complex was occupied at the time of the fire.  There were no reports of injuries.

The Kent Fire Department was assisted at this incident by King County Medic One, the Kent Police Department, and the SeaTac Fire Explorers who set up a rehabilitation center for the firefighters.

Representatives from the affected businesses, as well as the complex owners, are on scene and are cooperating with authorities to help determine the cause of the fire.
