Pair caught day after May 30 shooting in Auburn

Law enforcement agencies have arrested two juvenile suspects for investigation of the fatal shooting of a man on May 30 in Auburn.

Auburn Police arrested a boy and girl in Oregon Wednesday morning, May 31 with the assistance of the Gresham Police Department, according to the department’s social media. Gresham is just east of Portland.

The Auburn Police Department received reports on May 30 at approximately 9:32 a.m. regarding shots fired at the intersection of Fourth Street Southeast and Auburn Way South.

According to the department, the suspect vehicle reportedly pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle at a stoplight and fired shots into the vehicle. Gunshots struck a man in his 20s in the passenger seat. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The department’s public information log listed multiple witnesses to the incident.

The incident resulted in closures in parts of Fourth Street Southeast.
