Delivery driver fatally shot near Renton apartment complex parking lot

50-year-old man killed Jan. 25 at Fairwood Pond Apartments in unincorporated King County

A 50-year-old man died on Jan. 25 as a result of a shooting near Renton in an apartment complex parking lot.

The King County Sheriff’s Office reports that law enforcement believe the incident “was likely targeted at a driver delivering packages.”

Law enforcement believe the victim, in the process of delivering packages the night prior, Jan. 24, became involved in an altercation that resulted in his fatal shooting.

King County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded on Jan. 25 just before 5 a.m. to a report of a man down at the Fairwood Pond Apartments, 14700 Southeast Petrovitsky Road, in unincorporated King County.

According to the sheriff’s office, aid personnel arrived on scene prior to deputies and located the man deceased in the parking lot. King County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation of the incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation found the victim utilized his personal vehicle to deliver packages at the time of his murder.

Investigation into the incident continues, and no suspects have been identified as of Jan 25, according to the sheriff’s office.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the man’s name.
