Elmo C. Swanson
Elmo Charles Swanson passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on December 28, 2008. He was born May 23, 1924 in Watertown, SD and married his sweetheart, Doris Po-land on October 17, 1948. He taught at East Hill Elementary School (1955-76) and ministered faithfully at Faith Bap-tist Church for 42 years.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Swanson; sons, Chuck (and Di-ane) Swanson, MN; Paul (and Angie) Swanson of Kent; Tim (and Sylvia) Swanson of Kent; and daughter, An-nette (and Jeff) Rahn of Spokane; also sisters, Lorraine Calhoun and Marge Oldenkamp; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were 7 siblings and daughter-in-law, Joyce Swanson.Elmo was laid to rest on Friday, January 2 at Meridian Cemetary in Kent. A beautiful celebration of Elmo’s life with Christ took place at Faith Baptist Church later that same day. Remembrances may be sent to Evergreen Hospice, Faith Baptist Church or Focus on the Family. Elmo was loved dearly by his family and friends and his example of loving and living for God will be greatly missed.
