James John Jaeger

James John Jaeger, devoted father, loving son, brother, and friend passed away in the embrace of his family, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Seattle, Washington, Jim lived most of his life in Kent with his loving wife Andrea, whom he married in 1980, and their son, Sam. He graduated from Kentridge High School, and then from the University of Washington with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1978. Jim worked for many years as an engineer at Thousand Trails, before starting his own very successful business, Jaeger Engineering. The bond that he and Andrea shared was extraordinarily close and truly inspiring. With the birth of their son Sam, in 1991, their union blossomed into a family unit of amazing strength and devotion. They traveled the world, shared many cultural and artistic interests, and above all formed an inseparable team. After Andrea’s sudden passing in May of 2009, Jim and Sam banded together and carried on living life to the fullest as Andrea would have wanted. Jim was the kind of person that everyone respected and admired. In his professional life, he was known for his integrity and strong work ethic, as much as for his engineering excellence. As a father and husband, he was a calm and secure provider, who laid the foundation for the many creative endeavors that were the hallmark of their home. Never did he question the undertakings of his son in his musical aspirations, but supported them with one hundred percent of his love. Besides his work and family, his passions included his poodles: Sally and Ava, going to Mariners games with Sam, and showing his beautiful, mint-condition, 1955 Chevy Belair Convertible. His family and friends that will carry the spirit of his brave and gentle soul within them are: Sam Jaeger, Jim’s parents Bill and Dorothy Jaeger, his siblings Joe, Mary, Ken, Diane and Sandy and their families; John and Jan Zuberbuhler, Roena and Ralph Baum, Andrea’s sisters Deirdre and Krista and their families; and many beloved friends such as Mike, Scheffy, and Steve. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jim’s memory to: The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, 5526 West 13400 South, #510, Salt Lake City, Utah 84096 U.S.A.
