Jean Hansberry
Lila Jean Hansberry, 85, of Olympia, WA passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital. She is the beloved mother of Janis Martin, Olympia; Craig, Kansas; Bruce, Kent; Susan Taylor, Kansas; Roger, Missouri. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as her brothers and their spouses; Jack and Phil Syme of Florida; Maurice and Barbara Syme of Weiser, Idaho; Jim and Ellie Syme of Ogden, Utah. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, John; children, Donny, Kathy, and Alan.Jean was born in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1923. She was a resident of Idaho, New York, Missouri, and Kansas before moving back to the Northwest in 1985. She enjoyed sewing, painting, her grandchildren and her Master Gardner expertise.A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Masonic Center, 455 North St S.E., Tumwater, WA.Memorial donations in Jean’s name may be given to: The American Cancer Society, 1313 Broadway Ste 100, Tacoma, WA, 98402 or MercyCorps, Dept.
