Anyportinastorm has been assigned high weight of 124 pounds for the $200,000 Longacres Mile (Grade 3) on Sunday, Aug. 11 at Emerald Downs.

Virtually untested in a pair of romping stakes victories this season, Anyportinastorm received three more pounds than the next highest-weighted horses – El Huerfano, Higher Power, More Power to Him and Solid Wager, who all received 121 pounds. A 5-year-old by City Zip, Anyportinastorm is 7-1-4 in 13 starts with earnings of $241,025 for owner Peter Redekop and trainer Blaine Wright.

More Power to Him and El Huerfano finished first and second in the Mt. Rainier Stakes last month, while Higher Power is among four horses trainer John Sadler nominated to the Mile. Solid Wager has earned $857,970 in a 54-race career that includes a pair of Grade 3 wins.

Midwest-based Rocky Tough is next at 120 pounds, while Southern California-based graded winner Law Abidin Citizen follows at 119.

Entries for the 84th running of the Grade 3 Longacres Mile will be drawn Wednesday at Emerald Downs, along with entries for the $50,000 Emerald Distaff, $50,000 Muckleshoot Derby and $50,000 Washington Oaks. A special Championship Sunday $0.50 all stakes Pick Four will be offered.

In the Emerald Distaff, the Sadler-trainer Yuvetsi is high-weighted at 121 pounds. A 5-year-old by Bodemeister, Yuvetsi is a multiple stakes winner in Southern California, including a 2 1/2-length victory in the Grade 3 Rancho Bernardo Handicap at Del Mar. No Talking Back, upset winner of the Boeing Stakes last month, is the highest-weighted local at 119 pounds.

In the Muckelshoot Derby, all starters carry 123 pounds, while in the Washington Oaks all starters carry 121 pounds.
