Berg leads at 91st Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open Invitational

PGA pro Derek Berg of Sahalee Country Club of Sammamish took a one-shot lead after the second round of the Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open Invitational Tuesday at Meridian Valley.

Berg shot a round of 69 after opening with a 70 on the par-72 course. He is two shots in front of PGA pro Shane Prante of Lake Spanaway GC (Tacoma). PGA Pro Ryan Benzel of Sahalee CC and amateur Aaron Whalen of Lakeview G&CC (Soap Lake) are tied for third place in at 143.

Berg is no stranger to the winner’s circle. He has previously won the Northwest Open Invitational twice and the Oregon Open Invitational once as well.

The final round is Wednesday.
