The Kent-based Seattle Thunderbirds will have one Western Hockey League home game and three road games televised this season on ROOT Sports.

The WHL and ROOT Sports announced the 10-game Friday Night Hockey schedule Oct. 6 that will bring live action into 3.7 million homes across five states during the 2011-12 season, according to a T-Birds media release.

All five U.S.-based clubs, the Everett Silvertips, Portland Winterhawks, T-Birds, Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans will have games televised.

Ian Furness will do the play-by-play with analysis by Kevin Sawyer, a former WHL and NHL player.

Friday Night Hockey ROOT Broadcast Schedule:

Game 1 – Jan. 6 – Seattle at Tri-City, 7 p.m.

Game 2 – Jan. 13 – Tri-City at Vancouver, 7:30 p.m.

Game 3 – Jan. 20 – Spokane at Tri-City, 7 p.m.

Game 4 – Jan. 27 – Tri-City at Red Deer, 6:30 p.m.

Game 5 – Feb. 3 – Everett at Portland, 7 p.m.

Game 6 – Feb. 10 – Everett at Vancouver, 7:30 p.m.

Game 7 – Feb. 17 – Tri-City at Seattle, 7:30 p.m.

Game 8 – Feb. 24 – Spokane at Portland, 7 p.m.

Game 9 – March 2 – Seattle at Everett, 7:30 p.m.

Game 10 – March 16 – Seattle at Spokane, 7 p.m.
