Over and Under was resilient in the stretch and scored a neck victory Saturday over 3-to-5 betting favorite Berry Ledo in the feature race for 3-year-olds and up at Emerald Downs.

Ridden by the amazingly hot Leslie Mawing, Over and Under ran one mile in 1 minute, 38.01 seconds on a fast track and paid $11.20, $3.80 and $2.60. Howard Belvoir is the winning owner, trainer and breeder.

For Mawing, it was his second of three wins on the day—his ninth straight multiple win day—and extended his string to 19 straight days with at least one victory overall. He’s 42-for-116 during the streak while extending his lead to 121-88 over Juan Gutierrez in the Thoroughbred jockeys’ standings.

Belvoir, meanwhile, climbed back within two wins of Frank Lucarelli, 50-48, in the Thoroughbred trainers’ standings. Only seven days remain in the 82-day meeting.

Berry Ledo, ridden by Joe Steiner, paid $2.20 and $2.10. It’s Our Pleasure, also trained by Belvoir and ridden by Jennifer Whitaker, rallied from far back to finish third and paid $2.40.

A 3-year-old Washington-bred gelding by He’s Tops, Over and Under is two-for-eight at the meet and 3-2-6 in 18 lifetime starts.
