Kentlake High School freshman Shannon McLain, soccer, is the Kent Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 1.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Lunch.

Q: Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) favorite movies:

A: “Mean Girls,” “Happy Gilmore,” “Elf,” “The Grinch.”

Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

A: My brother.

Q: You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

A: Prime and Doritos.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual.

A: Candy and pump-up music.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC.

From the sidelines: Shannon made a big splash at tryouts, which had all of the coaches impressed about the new talent that was coming to the team. We are all excited for the offensive fire power she will bring to the team this season.
