The Kentridge and Kentwood high school girls soccer teams play in the first round of the 4A state tournament on Tuesday.
Kentridge (12-1-1, 4A North Puget Sound League Cascade Division, 13-2-2 overall) hosts Wenatchee High School at 5 p.m. at French Field. Kentwood (6-4-4, NPSL Cascade Division, 9-6-4 overall) takes on West Valley High School in Yakima at 6 p.m.
The winner of each game advances to the quarterfinals set for Nov. 10-12. The semifinal and final games will be at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup, with the two semifinal games on Friday, Nov. 18, and the championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.
Kentridge defeated Hazen High 1-0 in an elimination game on Nov. 3, but fell to Camas High, 5-1, last Saturday night for the top seed from the 4A West Central District.
Kentwood beat Tahoma High 1-0 in a shootout during an elimination game on Nov. 3, but lost 2-0 to Union High in a seeding game last Saturday.
