Well it is spring training time again and I have to tell you that I am becoming impressed with the Mariners this year. Any wrinkles that we may have expected should be ironed out before training is very far down the road.
You say, “What is the difference this year?” Well I’m glad that you asked; because the obvious answer is the way that Jack Z (General Manager Jack Zduriencik) is handling the team. He has had one new year under his belt, and I think that we will see some real honest-to-goodness effort on the players’ part. The way he leads has got to be incentives for the best players and on down the line of teammates.
I have observed “My Friend Jack” (coined last year after watching his reaction to the fans) as he times the speed of pitches and holds business meetings with his management brothers right there in their seats in the stands. Courteous and friendly to the spectators around him, but all business as he watches each move made by our Mariners.
I think that we have now got a leader and a top-notch organizer and professional.
I have an idea, fans. Let’s do some letter writing, note writing and e-mailing to the Mariners from Kent. Let’s get behind them and show them some good ol’ Kent support.
Kent could be the reason that they surge forward. Be sure that you let them know that you are a KENT FAN. Let’s redirect the Flood that we were supposed to have in Kent and make it a flood of note and letter support to Jack Z and our team.
