Officials to raise Seattle Thunderbirds flag at City Hall Sept. 21

Junior hockey team opens regular season Sept. 22 at ShoWare Center

Residents can help celebrate the start of the Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey season by attending a flag raising ceremony at noon Friday, Sept. 21, at Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Ave. S.

City and team officials will raise the Seattle Thunderbirds’ flag as they get ready for their 2018-19 Western Hockey League season. Head coach Matt O’Dette, the team captain (still to be named) and mascot Cool Bird will be on hand.

Seattle opens the regular season at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, against the Portland Winterhawks at the accesso ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St.
