Rescue Plan, a front-runner most of his career, rallied from last place to score an exciting victory Saturday in the $10,900 Coors Miller Purse for older horses at Emerald Downs.

Under a clever ride by Gallyn Mitchell, Rescue Plan overcame a slow start and reeled in the leaders late for a three-quarter-length victory in 1:03.71 for 5 ½ furlongs. Trained by Roy Lumm for Blue Diamond Stable and Janet Johnson, Rescue Plan paid $8.40, $4.20 and $3.40.

Hi and Goodbye, the 9-to-5 betting favorite ridden by Joe Crispin, finished second and paid $3.80 and $2.80. Chet the Jet, a 16-1 long shot ridden by Deborah Hoonan-Trujillo, finished third and paid $6.20.

Immigration, Snake Attack, Highdleburg and Grandest Slam completed the order of finish. Musical Trick and Certified Diamond were scratched.

A 4-year-old Kentucky-bred by Smarty Jones, Rescue Plan is 4-3-3 in 19 starts with earnings of $52,642.

You Me and Ema B victorious in thriller

You Me and Ema B, confidently ridden by Trujillo, remained undefeated in two starts with a one-length victory over 3-to-5 favorite Include the Baby  in an $18,600 allowance race for older fillies and mares.

You Me and Ema B, racing inside of Include the Baby, proved best in a prolonged battle between the two 4-year-old fillies. The winner, a Washington-bred by You and I , ran 5 ½ furlongs in 1:03.36 and paid $7.60.  You Me and Ema B is 2-for-2 with earnings of $17,765 for trainer Margo Lloyd and Pat Hoonan.

Private Fortune finished third, followed by Greenback Forest, Private Fortune and Hearts Valentine.

NOTES: The stewards ruled that jockey Juan Gutierrez was held blameless for the incident on April 23 in which Outing Mail, ridden by Gutierrez, finished second but was placed third for veering out near the eighth pole.

First-time starter E Z Kitty ($38.20), a Washington-bred son of He’s Tops, scored the biggest upset of the eight-day-old meet in Saturday’s nightcap. Leonel Camacho-Flores had the perfectly-timed ride for trainer Alan Bozell.

Our Natique and jockey Kevin Krigger led all the way for a 19-to-1 upset over 10-to-1 Gallant Son in the 62nd running of the $100,000 San Francisco Mile (G3) on the turf at Golden Gate Fields…One Call ($3.60) ridden by Vicky Baze prevailed in the $25,000 Dwight D. Patterson Handicap for older Arizona-breds at Turf Paradise.

Sunday, Baze rides Atta Boy Roy in a six-furlong allowance race at Turf Paradise. Atta Boy Roy is even-money on the line; it goes as race three at 2:11 p.m.

At Hastings Racecourse, Overvalued is the 2-to-1 morning line choice in the $50,000 Boulevard Casino for 3-year-old fillies at 6 ½ furlongs. Washington-bred Castinette Dancer (Ministers Wild Cat-Premo Copy) is 6-to-1 for trainer Troy Taylor and jockey Mario Gutierrez.
