The Kent-based Seattle Thunderbirds added their second defenseman via trade in the last week when they acquired Brad Deagle from the Red Deer Rebels for a conditional pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft.

T-Birds general manager Russ Farwell announced the deal Wednesday.

Deagle, 19, from Lethbridge, Alberta appeared in 55 games last year with the Rebels and had 12 points, all on assists, with 51 penalty minutes.

Deagle is a left-handed defenseman who is 6 feet 1 and 188 pounds. He was drafted by the Rebels in the third round, 62nd overall, in the 2007 Bantam Draft.

Seattle traded for defenseman Braeden Laroque last week from the Edmonton Oil Kings for a 2012 Bantam Draft pick.

The T-Birds have back-to-back home games this weekend. They face the Prince Albert Raiders at 7:35 p.m. Friday at the ShoWare Center and play the Victoria Royals at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.

Deagle is expected to be available for both games.
