Silvertips shut out T-Birds 4-0 Friday

The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-0 Friday night at Comcast Arena in Everett.

Byron Froese scored a power-play goal at 19:16 of the first period to go in front 1-0. Shane Harper and Kellan Tochkin had the assists.

Both team had 10 shots on goal in the first period.

Everett went in front 2-0 on a power-play goal by Taylor Ellington at 1:31 of the second period. Daniel Bartel and Froese had assists on the goal.

The Silvertips took a 3-0 lead on a power-play goal by Mike Alexander at 17:27 of the second. Graham Potuer and Harper had the assists on the goal.

Potuer scored at 8:56 of the third period to make it a 4- 0 lead for the T-Birds. Froese had the only assist on the goal.

Seattle outshot Everett 24-23 in the game.

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 19 saves on 23 shots and his record is now 14-12-1-2.

Everett goalie Thomas Heemskerk stopped all 23 shots he facedand his record is now 13-14-3-3.
