Tacoma Stars forward Derek Johnson

Tacoma Stars forward Derek Johnson was named to the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week for week four, the league announced on Wednesday.

Johnson combined to score five goals, including a hat trick last Saturday against the Sacramento Surge, and added three assists for a total of eight points in the Stars’ three games last weekend.

Tacoma goalkeeper Danny Waltman also earned honorable mention for his performance over the weekend, when he allowed 10 goals on 56 shots, compiling 46 saves and a .821 save percentage.

Joining Johnson on the MASL Team of the Week are Milwaukee Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg, Baltimore Blast defender Pat Healey, Waza Flo defender Thiago Goncalves, Missouri Comets midfielder Max Touloute and Milwaukee Wave midfielder Ian Bennett.

The Stars continue their first full season in the MASL with a home contest against Soles De Sonora on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:35 p.m. at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
