2009-10: Erik played 53 games for the Thunderbirds finishing the season with six points, all on assists, and 29 penalty minutes.
2008-09: Erik played in 50 games and had two goals and one assist for three points. Fleming also spent 15 minutes in the penalty box. Fleming scored his first career WHL goal against the Prince George Cougars on January 11 at ShoWare Center. During the playoffs Fleming played in one game and did not register a point.
2007-08: Fleming played in 17 games with the UFA Bisons of the Alberta Midget Hockey League. He had seven assists and seven penalty minutes with a plus/minus rating of plus-32. Fleming appeared in two T-Birds games and had two assists with a minus-1 rating and no penalty minutes. He also played in four playoff games.
