At 13:42 of the third, The T-Birds got on the board on a goal by Connor Honey. Branden Troock sent the puck to Honey at the top of the right circle. The puck deflected off of a Tri-City defender and past Americans goalie Eric Comrie and into the net.

Honey scored a second goal at 15:24 of the third to cut Tri-City lead to 4-2. Shea Theodore brought the puck over the blue line on the right side and stopped. He then centered it to Troock. Troock sent it to Honey right above the goal line and Honey controlled the puck, and then backhanded it through Comrie’s legs into the net.
