Guy G. Harris, age 94, passed away on January 1, 2009 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA. He had been a resident of the area since 1958.He was born July 16, 1914 in Carrollton, WA, to Orseamus Adams and Jessie Mae (Ginder) Harris. After high school he went to work as a logger. In 1942 he entered the United States Army and served during WWII. After his military service Guy went to work for Oregon American Lumber as a Lumber Grader. In 1958 he went to work for Boeing in Renton as a Store Keeper retiring due to medical reasons in 1970. Guy was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Kent, a lifetime member of VFW Post 11402 and a member of the Boeing Aerospace Machinist Union 751.Guy was preceded in death by his wife Leila (Marshall) Harris in 1991, and a brother William Harris of Tennessee. He is survived by a brother Ralph Harris of Auburn, his children Caroline (Harris) Hoapili of Auburn, Margaret Harris (Huber) of Renton, Elizabeth Valentine-Harris of Kent, Michael Harris of Elbe, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be at Edline-Yahn and Covington Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
