Striking teachers, school district need to resolve differences

We need to begin school in Kent.

We need to put caps on class size, as many of our neighboring districts have. We need to restore planning time to teachers so that they have adequate time to prepare for our children.

We need to compensate teachers in the Kent School District as well as our neighboring districts, so that we retain and attract quality teachers.

These objectives can best be achieved at the bargaining table and not in a courtroom. Both sides need to continue bargaining so that our children can receive an education equal to our neighbors.
