Flute festival Aug. 20-22 in Des Moines

A number of internationally acclaimed Native American flute players, as well as local musicians, are part of Flute Quest 2010 Aug. 20-22 at Saltwater State Park, 25205 Eighth Pl. S., in Des Moines.

The Native American flute festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 20-21 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22.

There is no charge to get into the festival, but several workshops and the main concerts are paid venues.

The festival will feature flute and drum vendors, flute circles in teepees, music in the park, beginning flute-player workshops, arts and crafts booths and drum circles.
