Money better spent elsewhere

I echo the sentiments of Donald Villenueve’s letter suggesting that a grade separation on 228th Street at the UPRR crossing is a poor choice of spending our limited road improvement funding dollars.

I disagree with his suggestion of an overpass at West Valley Highway, however.

Why not a grade separation on 212th at the BNSF railroad crossing? In my opinion, that should have been done before the existing 228th/BNSF project. 212th is a much more heavily traveled roadway than 228th.

The BNSF line has many more trains per day than the UP, so why spend millions on the 228th/UP project when a 212th/BNSF project would yield a much higher traffic improvement benefit?
