Kent’s Veterans Drive street naming to include flyover

The city of Kent’s ceremony Friday, May 31 to rename South 231st Way as Veterans Drive will now include a flyover.

Cascade Warbirds pilot Rich Alldredge will lead three World War II Primary Trainers, including two Stearman Biplanes and a PT-19 Monoplane, along with a T-28 Trojan and an IAR-823 in a flyover at 11 a.m.

South 228th Street to Military Road will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for the event. Parking attendants will provide traffic direction and parking assistance for event attendees on Russell Road. People are encouraged to carpool.
