Rainier Youth Choirs members recently enjoyed two days of singing, learning and socializing with several other choirs at the first annual Youth Choir Festival Northwest.

Held at Pacific Lutheran University with guest conductor Dr. André Thomas of Florida State University, the festival included a jazz night with swing dance lessons and culminated with an eclectic concert featuring all the choirs in Lagerquist Concert Hall.

Now local youth entering grades four through eight are invited to Rainier Youth Choirs second annual Summer Day Camp Aug. 19-22 on the Kent East Hill. Campers will enjoy learning music with fun activities between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each day and performing a free concert for family and friends at 7 p.m. Aug. 22.

The $25 camp fee includes all clinic materials, a camp T-shirt and daily lunch. To learn more about and to register for Rainier Youth Choir Summer Day Camp visit www.RainierYouthChoirs.org.
