Jefferson rolled to a 35-9 victory over Kent-Meridian in a South Puget Sound League North 4A game Thursday night at French Field.

The injury-depleted Royals scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Coach Brett Allen said afterward that with many starters injured or out of the game, the backups weren’t able to step up as he had expected.

The Royals (1-2 in league) host Kentwood at 7 p.m. next Friday. Jefferson (2-1) takes on Beamer at 7 p.m. next Friday.
