Communities in Schools of Kent is looking for donations of cash, gift cards or clothing to help 20 homeless families whose kids attend Mill Creek Middle School during the holidays.

Mill Creek site coordinator Marit Murry works with the homeless families on a regular basis to help the students get to school.

Anyone who would like to adopt a family can contact Murry at marit.murry@kent.k12.wa.us or at Mill Creek at 253-373-6143.

Murry spoke to the Kent City Council on Tuesday night about the need for help. Councilwoman Elizabeth Albertson and Councilman Bill Boyce each said they would support a family.
