Thunderbirds to play seven preseason hockey games; one in Kent

The Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team will play seven exhibition games during the 2014-2015 preseason.

Seattle released its preseason schedule on Tuesday.

The T-Birds open play in the Everett Silvertips’ preseason tournament at Comcast Arena at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, against the Tri-City Americans. Tournament play continues at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, against the Victoria Royals. The tournament concludes at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, against the Spokane Chiefs.

Seattle then goes to Kennewick at the Red Lion Hotels’ Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. The T-Birds play the Chiefs at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, and face Everett at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5.

The T-Birds conclude preseason with a home-and-home series against the Silvertips. The first game is at Comcast Arena at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12. On Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7:05 p.m., the T-Birds will host Everett at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

Single game tickets for the home preseason game will go on sale Aug. 20 on the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office.

The full 2014-15 regular season schedule for the Seattle Thunderbirds will be announced Wednesday, June 25.
