Kent United Boys 98 Green hosted an international friendly soccer match against Tambarskjelvar from Naustdal, Norway, at Petrovitsky Park on Tuesday afternoon in Renton.

The match was part of the Kent Sister Cities Association youth exchange program.

In 2012 the local boys visited Kent’s Sister City region of Sunnfjord, Norway for two weeks to play soccer and experience Norwegian culture. This time, the Naustdal team spent a summer week here in Kent.

Kent United prevailed in the friendly, 4-3. Mayor Suzette Cooke tossed the coin to open the match.

The visitors formed a team called Tamba, short for Tambarskjelvar, one of the four communes in the Kent Sister Cities Association. Kent’s sister city is Sunnfjord, which is made up of Naustdal, Forde, Gaular and Jolster. Kent has two additional sister cities, Tamba, Japan and Yangzhou, China.
