Newcastle Police arrested two Kent men and two Renton teens for investigation of residential burglary in connection with entering a home through an open window in the middle of the night while the family slept.

Deputies from Newcastle, which contracts with the King County Sheriff’s Office for police services, responded to a report of a suspicious car that led led to the arrests, according to a Sheriff’s Office media release on Wednesday.

At about 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, deputies responded to a residential neighborhood in the 11400 block of Southeast 83rd Street in Newcastle and found a car occupied by four young men. A search of the area led to the discovery of a burglary at a nearby home.

Police determined that the four males reportedly entered a house, where a family was asleep, through an open second-floor window after removing a screen. Deputies impounded the car and will get a search warrant for the vehicle to recover and return to the family stolen property found inside.

Detectives are working to see if other similar burglaries in Newcastle and Renton are connected to the same suspects.

With the warmer weather, police encourage residents to keep windows and doors locked and report any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood.
