The Children’s Home Society of Washington presents its family-friendly literary event, Roll & Read, on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South King County Family Resource Center, 212 Fifth Ave., S, Kent.

Travel through downtown Kent and participate in reading activities during a guided walk. You can walk, push a stroller or pull a wagon. Walks begin every 15 minutes at the center. Special characters such as Cat in the Hat, Waldo, Pete the Cat and other literary friends will make appearances along the way.

There also will be raffle prizes.

The event is free to families.
