Firefighters from the Kent and Valley Regional Fire Authority departments extinguished a house fire on Saturday in the 27500 block of 118th Avenue Southeast in Kent.

The first crews arrived at about 5:15 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the eaves and roof of the home, according to a Kent RFA media release. They were quickly able to access the attic and extinguish the fire.

The resident noticed the smoke and called 911. His early 911 call helped to limit the damage to the home. Neither the resident nor any firefighters were injured.

The fire was caused by an overloaded electrical circuit and is estimated to have caused approximately $60,000 in damage, according to fire officials.
