Kentwood High senior cheerleader Alexia Thomas was named the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week.

“(She) was selected Athlete of the Week based on her dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership and athletic performance,” according to an article on the Seahawks website earlier this month.

Thomas has a 3.75 GPA and is taking classes at Kentwood and Green River College.

Aside from doing well in school, Thomas helped to organize a back to school drive that collected a number of school supplies and backpacks for an elementary school. She was recognized on the field last Sunday during the Seahawks home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

She received a personalized Seahawks jersey, a football and two game tickets with sideline passes.
