Thunder, lightning knock out traffic signals across Kent on Thursday

Kent Police report that thunderstorms and lightning have knocked out traffic signals all across town on late Thursday afternoon.

As of about 4:15 p.m., signals were malfunctioning all along Central Avenue in the Valley, alongKent Kangley Road on the East Hill and along Military Road South on the West Hill.

Drivers are reminded that intersections where traffic signals are out should be treated as four-way stops with drivers alternating on who goes through the intersections.
