Kent’s Cultural Communities Board to host City Council, mayoral candidate forums | Update: time change

The city of Kent’s Cultural Communities Board has changed the times of the candidate forums it will host for the City Council and mayor races.
The council candidate forum is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the East Wing Auditorium at Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 SE 256th St.
The council races feature Brenda Fincher against Russ Hanscom; Toni Trounter against Tye Whitfield; and Satwinder Kaur against Paul Addis.
Mayoral candidates Jim Berrios and Dana Ralph will face off on Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the East Wing Auditorium. Both forums are open to the public.
The moderated forums feature a question-and-answer format focusing on issues that impact immigrants and refugees, people of color, individuals with disabilities and the LGBTQ community.
The taped forums will be broadcast on Comcast Channel 21 and online at KentTV21.com.
