City leaders recently honored outgoing Kent City Council members Jim Berrios and Dennis Higgins.

The two were recognized prior to the Nov. 21 council meeting for their work. Higgins served eight years on the council and Berrios four years.

Higgins decided not to seek re-election in November. Berrios lost in the November race for mayor against Dana Ralph and his council term expires at the end of this year.

Voters elected Toni Troutner to replace Higgins and Satwinder Kaur to replace Berrios.

The council has not yet announced how it plans to replace Ralph on the council. Her term has two years remaining.
