About 60 children bought holiday gifts for themselves and their families during the sixth Heroes & Helpers (shop with a cop) event at Target presented by the Kent Police.

More than 20 officers participated in the Saturday event at Target in Kent to help the children find gifts. Community members donated funds to pay for the gifts. The in-need children were selected by Kent Youth and Family Services.

“Participating in this event provides the Kent Police with a great opportunity to share in a wonderful event centered on Kent youth,” said Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner in a Kent Police Facebook post. “Just seeing these kids smile means the most.”
