A 30-year-old Kent man suffered injuries in a single-car crash Thursday, May 28, in the 5200 block of South 212th Street.

Officers were dispatched at about 7:20 p.m. to the crash and found a single occupant in the vehicle with life-threatening injuries, according to a Friday email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner. First responders stabilized the man and paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

“Initial information suggests that speed appears to be a major factor in this one car accident,” said Kasner, who didn’t release an estimated speed of the vehicle.

Units from Puget Sound Fire, Tukwila Fire, South King County Medic One and Kent Police responded to the crash. Puget Sound Fire tweeted that the man required extrication and was in critical condition.
