Kent Police found a 40-year-old woman Tuesday dead inside a home and are investigating the case as a homicide.

At about 1:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstances call at a home near the area of South 250th Street and 23rd Place South, according to police. Officers were advised that a woman had been found unconscious.

Officers arrived within minutes and began life-saving efforts, including CPR, which they continued until medics arrived. The woman did not respond and died at the scene.

Police did not release what might have caused the death of the woman but said it is believed to be a homicide and does not appear to be a random killing. Police have not arrested anyone and did not release whether there is a suspect in the case.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the woman’s name or a cause of death.
