Thunderbirds home opener in Kent set for Oct. 9 against Portland

The home opener for the Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team will be at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 against the Portland Winterhawks at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.

“We are extremely excited that we will be able to welcome the best fans in the WHL (Western Hockey League) back to accesso ShoWare Center,” said T-Birds President Colin Campbell in a press release. “It has been a long time since we have seen ShoWare loud and rowdy for a T-Birds game and we are looking forward to this game.”

Seattle played a shortened 2020-2021 season due to COVID-19 and no fans were allowed at the games.

The T-Birds are offering two free tickets to the home opener to fans who purchase a 20-game flex ticket package before June 30.

The full 2021-22 regular season schedule will be released on Wednesday, June 23. The 2021-22 preseason schedule will be released on Monday, June 21.

Seattle single-game tickets for the 2021-22 regular season will go on sale in August on a date to be determined.
