Turn off the phone, stop texting, slow down and watch for children in Kent | Letter

Seems like perhaps summer has actually arrived in Kent. Warm weather and school being out brings lots of kids out and about.
I live in a neighborhood on East Hill where we are fortunate to have three, count them three, parks our kids can walk to. But every time we head out to walk to a park, I see cars going way too fast. Please folks, slow down.
The speed limit in Kent is 25 miles an hour, unless otherwise posted – 25 miles an hour. That feels very slow when you are driving, but is critical for the safety of our kids.
Turn off your phones, stop talking/texting, slow down and keep an eye out for our children; and by all means, please enjoy the summer!
