Money collected from taxpayers by city of Kent should be returned | Letter

I read about the money collected from the taxpayers (June 24 edition) for the Regional Fire Authority and almost $5 million ended up in the city of Kent’s general fund without voter knowledge or approval.

This is dishonest and unacceptable.

Had this information not been printed in the Kent Reporter, most Kent voters would have no knowledge of the corruption.

This is a situation that should not be ignored.  The money should be returned to its rightful owners.

Nothing has been said about the Regional Fire Authority seeking the return of thses funds to their organization, so maybe they don’t need it. In that case, it should be returned to the tax payers from whom the money was taken under false pretenses.

For those of you who are candidates for Kent City Council positions, what are your plans to rectify this problem?
