T-Birds rally set for Kent City Hall

Fans of the Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team can join city officials for a ceremonial flag raising at Kent City Hall to celebrate the 2016-17 Western Hockey League season.

Coach Steve Konowalchuk, captain Scott Eansor and mascot Cool Bird will join Mayor Suzette Cooke and City Council members at noon Friday, Sept. 30, in front of City Hall along Fourth Avenue South.

The T-Birds’ home opener is at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 against the Portland Winterhawks at the ShoWare Center.
